Caterpillar offers a wide selection of arpeggiator sounds, leads, and basses. The range spans from authentic retro basses in the style of Boards of Canada, to dreamy melodic techno arpeggios, and aggressive staccato leads for harder techno styles.

Within these categories, a distinction is made between standard and rhythmic variants. The latter are characterized by beat-synced modulations that subtly or prominently reinforce the rhythmic foundation of a track.

Integration of Modwheel and Aftertouch

Almost all presets have key performance controls like Aftertouch, Modwheel, and Velocity assigned to crucial parameters. Depending on the intended use, the controlled parameters vary and are optimized for each preset.
