“Empires” includes 64 new Waldorf Blofeld presets, specifically tailored for producers in the ambient, techno, and scoring genres, but is also perfectly suitable for other electronic music. During the creation of these patches, deep exploration into the sound design possibilities was undertaken.

Waldorf Blofeld Empires Preset Overview

This Blofeld sound set places a focus on pads, ranging from warm analog pads and rhythmic textures reminiscent of granular synthesis to atmospheric strings.
The sound pack also includes powerful basses, melancholic and complex leads, and driving arpeggios. Most of the 13 arpeggiator sounds come with their arpeggio pattern, specially crafted to complement the preset.
Completing this Blofeld preset collection are Dub Chords. These include short staccato sounds, hypnotic Dub stabs, and morphing atmospheres. Finally, there is a small selection of drones.

Modwheel, Aftertouch, and Velocity

To play these Blofeld patches expressively, the most common live controllers — Modwheel, Aftertouch, and Velocity — have been assigned to each preset. Rather than limiting itself to boring Modwheel vibratos, each assignment has been optimized for the corresponding preset.

Easy Installation

In order to transfer these Blofeld presets, you will need a computer, a USB or MIDI connection, and a SysEx librarian of your choice. You can use a free MIDI librarian application such as „SysEx Librarian“ for Mac, or „MIDI-OX” for Windows. The Presets will be stored in bank H. However, if you wish to store them in a different location, you can use the free patch editor “Softknobs“.
